Health Literacy Workshop

On August 11, 2017, Remedy Organization in partnership with Health Information for All (HIFA) and Wem’Africa organization, held a health literacy workshop to educate inhabitants of the Buea municipality on health practices that can increase life span and reduce death rate. The event was chaired by health specialist and development experts. Presentations were made on issues such as drug abuse, the Zika virus, mental health and disease prevention.

Participants were given techniques on diseases prevention and tips to live healthily. Also, participants were exposed to strategies on stress management.


Moreover, a health specialist from the Mt Mary hospital in Buea, advised female participants to always observe safer hygienic practices especially during periods of menstruation.



Towards the end of the workshop, participants were paired to come up with possible recommendations on how to promote health literacy and assist those in difficult situations.



At the end of the training, participants received certificates of participation.
