Celebration of the International Day of the African Child

On June 16, Remedy Association in Partnership with the Youth Alliance for Leadership and Development in Africa (YALDA-PAIDWA), joined the international community to celebrate the International day of the African Child under the theme "Accelerating Protection, Empowerment and Equal Opportunities for Children in Africa by 2030.

The event which was celebrated at the Pan African Institute for Development West Africa, gave youth leaders, gender activist and development stakeholders the opportunity to discuss some of the challenges faced by the African child, and equally seek sustainable solutions towards making the lives of African children better by 2030.

Also, several presentations on ways to create conducive environments for African children were made by students of the Pan African Institute for Development. Some of the presentations dwelled on job creation, access to opportunities and funding.


After the various presentations, participants were divided in to sub groups to devise strategies to accelerate protection, empowerment, and equal opportunities for African children by 2030.


At the end of the ceremony, participants undertook to protect children in their various communities and ensure that they are empowered and have equal access to opportunities.
